I'm Back!

Wow, it's been a busy week for me, not much blogging time, I apologize. So, I've been getting 3503459034 text messages from ESPN today about the NFL and what next season's schedules are looking like. So far, it looks like we got some pretty good Thanksgiving games with Saints at Cowboys, Patriots at Lions and Bengals at Jets. I'm looking forward to the 2010 season, even though last season just ended in February and despite the fact that my Birds are making some drastic changes. I feel like most teams are making some pretty serious changes for next season, with the Seahawks and their new coach Pete Carroll, the Redskins and McNabb, Ben Roethlisberger and his Steelers, I don't know what his penalty is going to be yet but his team is going to have to cope with his loss. With all the draft picks coming in starting Thursday it should be an interesting season in 2010. I forget who I heard say it but someone on ESPN said this draft is the best one in 15 years and I would have to agree. There are so many talented quarterbacks who are showing amazing progress and even the running backs, safeties and wide receivers are top prospects, among many more. After my internship last fall at WNEP-TV Channel 16 in Scranton, PA, I got a better understanding for college football and learned to appreciate the intensity and the genuine love these boys have for the game. I always forget that these boys are my age and are amazing athletes. I really got to know teams such as Florida, Michigan, Penn State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Iowa and a few others. I really liked watching Golden Tate from Notre Dame. His work ethic and speed really stood out to me and even though Notre Dame wasn't a championship team this year, I really enjoyed watching Tate. But, I will admit I am a Tim Tebow fan. What college girl isn't? Aside from his stunning looks, he is a darn good quarterback. I know a lot of commentators have been saying that he is not going to do well in the NFL and that he's just a good leader. But, I would have to say that his leadership will take him a long way. Let's face it, the kid knows the game and he's obviously emotional and cares a lot for the game, judging by his final game in Gainesville. I have not seen his quarterback camp with Jon Gruden yet, but I have faith that his new form will take him places and he may not be the best quarterback next season but he has the potential to make it big time within the next five years. It's a stretch but, hey, anything can happen! I still have to look at the videos from Todd McShay on ESPN to learn more but I'm going to go out on a limb and based on the things I have been hearing I'm going with Sam Bradford from the Oklahoma Sooners as the number one pick.

One more thing before I finish and tune into the Flyers and Devils game, I just want to comment on McNabb's request for Terrell Owens. I do not like that at all. I said it in the beginning and I'll say it again, this McNabb trade is going to bite us and bite us real bad. If the whole thing pulls through with the Redskins acquiring Owens, my worst nightmare has come true. Again. The first time it came true when Owens went to the Cowboys the season after his years with the Birds. Philly thought THAT was bad, well I think this just might be worse. The NFC East is going to be a hot mess next season and that I can not wait for. Also, I know I said one last comment but this I thought was important...Texas RB Vondrell McGee was charged with a DWI. I found it interesting that ESPN said the school is planning to suspend him for at least one game. I really hope the consequences are a little more severe than just one game. Just putting that out there.

So much to say, so little time

So, the virdict is in and Big Ben has his behind saved once again. Considering I have an insane amount of work to finish for tomorrow and Wednesday for classes that shouldn't matter to me in the real world in about two months (i.e./ european history and nutrition) I don't have enough time to dedicate to this issue about the famed QB... Anywho, I will leave you with this... visit espn.com for the DA's press conference on Big Ben. It is quite humorous and in some cases disturbing, regarding some of the details of that night back in March. On a lighter note, Joe Mauer seems like a pretty interesting character. I just saw his interview with Rick Reilly on ESPN, so check out that video too! Good night and GO PHILLIES!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

I have one concern so far this baseball season and that's the lack of attendance at the stadiums. As of now, I can only vouch for the Nationals and the Astros, but seriously, baseball is America's sport! The Florida Marlins are also struggling to fill seats and it's just something these front offices need to take care of. Especially the seats behind home plate. My suggestion is that if you can't sell them for your asking price, then just put people from other sections there to at least make you look good on TV. I'll do some more research and see what other MLB teams are left empty seated. In my opinion, it's a real problem and I'm sure part of the reason people aren't showing up to these games is because their teams aren't doing so well, but baseball games are fun and need to be enjoyed. Anywho, as for this McNabb and T.O. reunion in D.C., I'm not buying it. Last I heard D.C. has five quarterbacks on the roster and here I thought three was too many! I also hear they were getting visits from Sam Bradford AND Jimmy Clausen! What's with that??

Also in football, the Big Ben charges are dropped?????!!!!! What is going on? I'd like to see if the judge is still going release the evidence tomorrow. Things just got interesting, and I'm certainly annoyed. One thing's for sure, that woman who filed charges isn't doing it for the money if she I dropping the charges, which leads me to think the Steeler really did do something.

Enough about Big Ben for now...how bout them Philllllss? :)

Finally Friday!

So, this is my first blog and I'm so excited to get the ball rolling! But anyway, it's finally Friday and this weather is GORGEOUS. And of course I'm inside watching The Masters on ESPN. Tiger is making a superb comeback if you ask me, I mean with all that pressure the guy's got a lot on his plate but he seems to be handling it pretty well; I know I couldn't, but then again I cringe at the thought of more than three people watching me play! I give the guy a lot of credit, I mean coming back after months of not playing and he's tearing it up on the course! Yeah, yeah what he did was wrong, perverted and grimy but he's human! A very WEALTHY human who just made some mistakes, one after the other. But come on, how many regular people are doing the same thing and not being slammed for it?! If it's anything, I forgive him. He's a great golfer and I hope he wins the Masters this year.

Enough about Tiger, though. IT'S BASEBALL SEASON PEOPLE! I've been looking forward to this since the World Series ended. I'll tell you right now I am a Philly fan. But don't worry I'll be talking about other sports teams too, just after I brag about Philly :) Great start to the season though for my Phills, despite last night's loss to the Nationals :/ So much for our undefeated season...but hey, you can't win them all! Our line up is SICK though, there is not a single hole in it. We will walk all over every pitcher from Jimmy Rollins to Jayson Werth to Carlos Ruiz. Yes we've got a great team and I can't wait to watch them this season but you know what? I don't think people realize how good looking our team is! Chase Utley..hello, duh obviously he's a stud no questions asked. Except for his ONLY downfall, the greased and slicked back hair. That's gotta go! Shane Victorino is a cutie too, that skin and those eyes! My personal favorite...Jayson Werth<3 There is something about him, besides his facial hair, that is so intriguing about him! Maybe his stellar arm? I'm speechless, he's just so damn good looking!

Alright, that's enough for today. Keep an eye our for Tiger, he might surprise the world this weekend! Go Phills and good luck to the rest of the National League :)
